Daily Guidelines
Here are the general preschool rules for parents. The full set of preschool policies are available for viewing on request.
Children must be 2 years old before they can attend. We are required to see the child’s birth certificate to substantiate the minimum age.
No child will be permitted to stay without prior completion of the registration form.
A one-off fee of £5.00 will be expected upon registration.
All fees must be paid in advance.
Parents will be given advance notice of any change in the fees.
If a child is going to be absent from preschool for a holiday a months notice must be given or full fees will still be charged. If proper notice is received then only half fees will be charged. The fee is for the place not the attendance.
Fees are still charged in the case of a child being absent due to illness. The only exception to this is if the child has been hospitalised. The fee is for the place not the attendance.
If a child does not attend for two weeks without payment, or payment is two weeks in arrears the parent or guardian will then be given the opportunity to discuss any problems in confidence. The management will then decide whether or not to hold the child’s place or offer it to the next child on the waiting list.
We will require four weeks notice if your child will be leaving the preschool or the equivalent in fees.
Parents should bring a change of clothes in a small named bag. Children should wear clothing that is easily undone to promote independence.
Children are required to wear sensible footwear.
The preschool will not accept responsibility for any article of clothing or property lost or damaged whilst on the premises.
If a child is not completely toilet trained they can be accepted in disposable pants, e.g. pull-ups. The parents are expected to provide these.
The preschool will provide a nutritious snack at break time. Parents must inform the pre-school if a child has any allergies.
Milk will be provided at break time. If a child does not like milk a named container of a substitute drink must be provided.
We request that parents do not bring sweets or snacks into the room on arrival or departure as this can upset the other children.
If absolutely necessary a child will be allowed to bring in a toy or comforter which must be clearly labelled.
No child may be left unattended at the preschool prior to session start time.
Children must be collected promptly at the end of the session.
Persistent disregard for the above two rules will result in the review of the child’s pre-school place.
A child suffering from vomiting and/or diarrhoea will not be admitted to pre-school until 24 hours after the symptoms have ceased.
Children with head lice or any other spread able or contagious condition will not be admitted until pre-school is assured that treatment has been given.
On signing your child’s registration form you agree to abide by the rules of Tiddlywinks Preschool as stated above.
